Starting June 13, the America’s Cup will be showcasing and testing AC45 wing-sailed catamarans forthe first time on the San Francisco Bay. ORACLE Racing, hometown defenders of the America’s Cup, will have two AC45s on the Bay conducting tests which will include experimental race course configurations for tight, tactical racing as well as umpiring that allows forcalls during fast-paced competition and will test of a new-generation of technological media that changes the way people will watch sailing on television.
The testing will run June 13th – 17th and 20th. The Race Committee team will meet at the Golden Gate Yacht Club at 1200 each day, leave the dock at 1230, and conduct testing from 1330-1530 across the Bay. The Corinthian Yacht Club and the San Francisco Yacht Club will be providing critical support of mark setting, marshaling and media.
